hina Clay falls under Kaolinite group of clays. It is having the usualcompositions of Al2O3, 2SiO2, 2H2O, Hydrous Aluminium Silicate. It hasa good plasticity, does not swell in water, stands high temperature (upto 1300C) & is non conductor of heat & electricity.
It is widely used in paper, coatings, paints, paint thickeners, pigments, color
stabilizers, catalyst carriers,as an insulating agent in cosmetics, in electronic elements
and inks, and as a reinforcing agent in rubber and plastics. It can PARtially replace
titanium white. It ouTPErforms titanium white in terms of surface activity and adsorption.
